Our story
Gateway.gg is all about giving gamers the ability to play with their friends effortlessly. We want to make it easier for you to play the games you want, with who you want, when you want to. Our goal is to give you the tools to build and thrive with your gaming community, no matter the size.
The beginning
Gateway.gg was a passion project started in late 2019 by Dom, Alex and Ryan. Throughout our youth, we’ve spent countless hours playing games like Minecraft and Terraria, both on singleplayer and multiplayer. At the time, setting up our own multiplayer server was quite a challenge, and existing solutions like hosts and Hamachi provided more problems than they solved. Even to this day existing solutions are quite lackluster. Many server hosts employ pre-made tools and panels, and stitch them together to provide their service. We knew we could make a better platform that gave the user more control, and made hosting super easy for anyone to do.
Development
And so, slowly but surely, we built Gateway.gg from the ground up, and have continually developed Gateway.gg into what it is today. We started development with Minecraft in mind, but our platform can now support any game with server support. Going forward, we will continually push support for new games, as well as new features to make your experience the best it can be.
